10 tips where you can go skiing in the Giant Mountains
Downhill skiing here has the longest tradition in our country, the first curves of period ski were learned in 1892 by the employees of Count Jan Harrach, who brought skiing to the Czech lands. Look for the oldest Czech ski slope in Pec pod Sněžkou, Rokytnice nad Jizerou again offers skiers the longest downhill run in the Giant Mountains (3185 m). The Špindlerův Mlýn ski resort operates 5 cable cars and 11 ski lifts in Špindlerův Mlýn and Horní Mísečky, a total of 25 km of downhill runs, of which 95% are technically covered with snow. There are 3 snow parks and a U ramp, 2 children's parks and 85 km of cross-country trails.
The Harrachov sports complex is one of the most beautiful places for winter sports. Skiing on Devil's Mountain is suitable for all generations. In addition to downhill trails, Harrachov also offers ideal conditions for skiers - runners and ski tourism of all levels of difficulty. It is also a famous place for jumping competitions.
The Herlíkovice and Bubákov ski resorts are located 4 km from Vrchlabí by the road to Špindlerův Mlýn. The resorts offer a total of 2 four-seater cable cars and 7 ski lifts. A novelty is the children's park.
Ski in the eastern Giant Mountains and enjoy 50 km of slopes on 1 ski pass. 6 interconnected areas, between which you can cross on skis, ski buses or snowmobiles. In summer, 3 cable cars take you to the ridges. From here, go hiking, cycling, scooters or children's parks.
Mladé Buky Ski Park is located in the eastern Giant Mountains near the town of Trutnov and less than two hours drive from Prague. This four-star resort offers skiing for families with children, advanced skiers, snowboarders and freestylers. On site you will find Hellish Hill Ski School with a Montana ski service.
Vítkovice in the Giant Mountains lies on the border of the Liberec and Hradec Králové regions at an average altitude of 683 m above sea level. The dominant feature of the village is Mount Kotel (1435 m above sea level). Aldrov Vítkovice Ski Resort offers excellent snow conditions for downhill and cross-country skiing.
Pec pod Sněžkou is known not only as a starting point for the highest mountain in the Czech Republic, Sněžka, but also as an active mountain resort in both summer and winter. The ski area offers skiing on 14.1 km of slopes.

The Horní Domky ski resort, which is located in Horní Rokytnice n. J. on the southern slopes of Lysá hora, offers 2 cable cars, 6 lifts and 14.5 km of slopes of all difficulties (blue, red, black). With its area, demonstration slopes and facilities, it is equal to the best ski resorts in the Czech Republic.
Skiresort Černá hora is a ski region with a joint ticket, created by connecting ski resorts in Janské Lázně, Černý Důl and Svoboda nad Úpou. The area in Černý Důl is characterized by its romantic and quiet environment with wide slopes.
