Summer news in the Giant Mountains - tips for interesting trips on foot, by bike and with children

Do you go to the Giant Mountains in summer? Do you want to enjoy an active family holiday, take a ride on cable cars or chairlifts to the mountain tops and go on ridge hikes or prams with a pram?

We will start a big summer campaign with the Krkonoše cycle buses, which commute between the cities in the foothills and the attractive places of the Krkonoše Mountains until the end of September. They are adapted for transporting bicycles, but of course hikers can also ride. Lines run daily during the summer holidays, on Thursdays on Thursdays and on weekends. You can download the timetables on the website, but they are also available on the counters of the Krkonoše information centers. Transport to the mountains is solved, so where next?

The summer ski pass is called TourPAS
You may have heard of it, you may have even used it, and you may have heard of it for the first time. What's up? TourPAS is a summer "ski pass" of the Černá Hora - Pec pod Sněžkou Ski Resort, which you can easily find at the ticket office at the currently open cable cars. It applies to the summer tourist bus, which runs from Pec pod Sněžkou via Janské Lázně to Černý Důl and back, and at the same time you can take the cable cars in the eastern Giant Mountains indefinitely as long and as many times as you like. It applies to all SkiResort lifts, ie to the Černohorský express cable car from Janské Lázně to Černá hora, to the chairlift from Pec pod Sněžkou to the lookout tower on Hnědý vrch, to the chairlift in Černý Důl and to the chairlift from Velká Úpa to Portášky. TourPAS also serves as a discount card for various services, for example, you can rent mountain scooters and bicycles cheaper, in Pec pod Sněžkou you get a discount on admission to the Monkey Park rope park, massages and the swimming pool at the Horizont hotel. A ticket to the Krkonoše Underground Museum in Černý Důl or to the Fairytale Krkonoše exhibition at the Rýchorka Infocentre will be cheaper for you.

On steep slopes on wheels
Most of the Krkonoše cable cars will take you with bikes and mountain scooters for free in summer. The Horní Domky cable car with an exit at the Lovčenka cottage is no exception; by the way, not far from it is the Ručičky crossroads, from where a number of marked hiking trails and bike paths lead. But let's stay at the cable car: if you want to ride in the local Bikepark Rokytnice and rent a bike at the local rental shop, you will ride the cable car completely free of charge.

Stamping game In the footsteps of the Krakonoš
Are you an avid hiker and explorer? And do you like to play? Come with the children in the footsteps of the Krakonoš Mountains to discover the unique places of the Krkonoše Mountains. You can go on foot or by bike to our highest Czech mountains and their foothills and stamp the Giant Mountains with a new stamping game "In the footsteps of the Krakonoše". You will visit nice places in the Giant Mountains, which you may not know yet. You will get to know interesting parts of the highest Czech mountains and their foothills and meet people who live there.

Your task is to visit on foot or by bike the individual attractions that are drawn on the map. Here, for example, you have to answer a simple question or perform a saved task. After completing the task, you will get a stamp imprint. Some places are called TOP and there you will receive a small gift in addition to the stamp. Places that can be visited during the game include the Žacléř Municipal Museum, the Muchomůrka Farm Park, the Eliška Lookout Tower, the Sněžka Post Office, the Aichelburg Forest Castle, the Elbe Spring, the Hucul Farm, the Štěpánka Lookout Tower, the Jilemnice Giant Mountains Museum and other places.

Fun trail for the whole family - Harrachov monsters
Wellness Hotel Svornost has prepared for you a cognitive game "Wandering with Harrachov monsters around Harrachov and its surroundings" for interesting prices. You will take your parents, friends or grandparents with you and visit beautiful places in Harrachov and its surroundings. You can see the carved figures at the hotel and just take a picture with them. There are 7 of them in the beautiful area so far, others will be added gradually. Stay in the Wellness Hotel Svornost, pick up a brochure with a map at the reception and go to the Harrachov monsters.

Where else in the Giant Mountains with children
In the Giant Mountains you will also enjoy a lot of other entertainment. They have prepared a number of interesting trails and areas for families with children. Some have already been mentioned, some will be introduced to you now. One of the novelties of this summer is the Pecka Amusement Trail - game landscape near Portášek, above Pec pod Sněžkou, which has just been built. The game landscape consists of three units: the water world, the world in the treetops and the meadow part. One part arises in the meadow, the other in the forest and the third at the forest-meadow interface. An interesting feature in the forest is a sidewalk suspended above the ground between tree trunks. The trail will be completed during the summer holidays of 2018.
