A glass museum, a mini-brewery with a restaurant and a hotel with a beer spa can all be achieved with a single visit to the Novosad glassworks. The glassworks was founded at the beginning of the 18th century and is one of the oldest in the Czech Republic. Its uniqueness is the historic glass grinding mill, powered by transmissions and a water turbine.

The Novosad a syn glassworks is a private, the second oldest glassworks in Bohemia. It was founded before 1712 on the Jilemnice estate of the Harrach counts. Everything is almost in its original form and fully functional. The product range consists of luxury drinking glasses, utility glass and crystal chandeliers. In 2002, a mini-brewery with a restaurant was added directly to the glassworks. Here is a view of the metallurgical hall with furnaces, so visitors to the restaurant can see the glassmakers at work.

If you've ever thought about what it's like to be a glassblower, you can try it for yourself in the Harrachov glassworks! After prior order, you can try the work of local glassmakers under their professional supervision. You will blow your own flask, which you will take home as a souvenir. Glass blowing, which must be ordered at least a day in advance, is also suitable for women and children. Those interested will pay CZK 1,000 for 15 minutes, CZK 2,000 for half an hour and CZK 4,000 for an entire hour.

The Museum of Glass exhibits a collection of historical glass from Harrachov production. Unique is the 100-year-old historic glass grinding mill, which is powered by transmissions and a water turbine. The Museum of Glass contains a historically and technologically comprehensive collection of historical glass produced by the Harrachov glassworks. Here it is possible to buy a videotape with shots of production in the glassworks. The exposition History of the Glassworks and the traditional production of cut, painted and etched glass are installed here. The modern installation presents the products of glass masters of the past and present, you will find examples of almost all glass techniques.

Beer spa in Harrachov

The youngest building in the area is a hotel with a beer spa, which was opened in 2007. Here you can indulge in therapy in a quiet and picturesque environment. You can enjoy it completely alone in the bathtub for individuals or as a couple in a double bath. You can enrich this experience with a relaxing massage. During each phase of this therapy, you can enjoy one small beer from the local brewery, where all the beer products used also come from.

The main ingredient in the bath is 5 liters of light and 5 liters of dark unfiltered unpasteurized yeast beer and crushed hops. To increase the effect of the bath and enhance the relaxation experience, guests are served a glass of unique unfiltered unpasteurized beer containing live cultures of yeast that have a beneficial effect on the entire digestive tract. The treatment thus works outside and inside the body.
