Educational trail of Karel Jaromír Erben in Miletín

The K. J. Erben educational trail is a circuit leading to the town of Miletín and its surroundings. It was built with the aim of acquainting visitors to Miletín with the life and work of an important writer. The trail consists of two separate circuits - one measures 5 km, the other 14 kilometers.

The circuit begins at K. J. Erben's birth house. There are 10 stops on the 5 km long route, which are equipped with seating, information boards and accompanying furniture. The continuation of NS K. J. Erben acquaints visitors with more distant places, the trail follows the trail existing at the birth house of K. J. Erben. It leads through Červená Třemešná and Vrbiny to the church of St. Peter and Paul in Byšičky. From there, the route passes by the Hluboký and Nadýmák ponds. In the village of Vlkanov, the panorama of Zvičina opens and through Miletínek, the trail takes us back to Miletín.

The first part of K. J. Erben's nature trail (5 km) begins in the writer's birthplace. Here is an information board that briefly introduces the personality of K. J. Erben. Another stop is at the well on Koš, where the statue of Polednice and a bench are located. The third stop is called Execution Ground according to the actual purpose, when the city received from King Přemysl Otakar II. throat law. The events of this place inspired Erben to write the ballad Daughter's Curse. The fourth place is called Hoj jede z lesa pán… and in addition to the blackboard and seating there is also a wooden statue of the Lord, which looks at the birth house of K. J. Erben. The ballad Zlatý kolovrat is connected to this place. The fifth stop is Miletín Spa, where people came for treatment. There is also a mention of Erben's friend K. H. Mácha. The next stop is called Through the Eyes of K. J. Erben. Here, the visitor gets a unique opportunity to compare the current view with the period view. There is a column with a cross from 1811 - the year when K. J. Erben was born. The seventh place is called In the Footsteps of Ancestors - the cemetery and you will get information about the Erben family, which is partly buried in the local cemetery. The penultimate stop place - facing Erben - is dedicated to the monument to K. J: Erben and its history. The last stop is Parkáň, in the area of ​​the tower you will find information about the school, monastery, castle, etc.

The second part of the NS also begins at K. J. Erben's birth house. Then the route leads through Červená Třemešná (church of St. James the Greater, ballad Poklad) and Vrbina (ballad Wedding shirt) to the church of St. Peter and Paul in Byšičky (Wedding shirt ballad). From here, the trail passes the Hluboký (ballad Vodník) and Nadýmák (ballad Christmas Day) ponds. The next stop is in the settlement of Vlkanov (view of Zvičina) and through Miletínek (Erben's fairy tales) the road will take us back to Miletín (house no. 126, former brewery). The length of the route is about 14 km, you will find 10 stops here.
